AIChE CHEM-E-CAR

The AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition, AIChE’s flagship student competition, was created in 1999 to engage undergraduate students in a collaborative effort designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. Students are invited to design and construct a car that can safely run a specific distance and stop on its own - all through the power of chemical energy sources and reactions. The competition has helped to increase awareness of the chemical engineering discipline among college students, educators, industry leaders, and the public. In recent years, Chem-E-Car has welcomed more than 40 teams from qualifying competitions around the world to compete for cash prizes, trophies, and bragging rights.
