Host interface
R2026bSelect host-side interface for XCP external mode communication
Since R2026b
Model Configuration Pane: Hardware Implementation / Hardware board settings / Target hardware resources / Groups / External mode
Description
Select whether Simulink® or third-party calibration tools manage the host-side XCP external mode connection with Raspberry Pi®.
When set to Simulink, Simulink manages the external mode connection and you configure the host-side CAN
hardware using the CAN
Vendor, CAN
Device, and CAN
Channel parameters.
When set to Third party calibration tools, an A2L file is
generated during the build process, allowing you to use third-party calibration tools such as
CANape® or INCA to connect to the target and perform parameter tuning and signal
monitoring.
Dependencies
To enable this parameter, set Communication interface to
XCP on CAN.
Settings
Simulink (default) | Third party calibration toolsSelect the host-side interface for XCP external mode communication.
Simulink(default)Simulink manages the external mode connection. When using XCP on CAN, additional parameters become available for configuring the host-side CAN hardware: CAN Vendor, CAN Device, and CAN Channel. A Vehicle Network Toolbox™ license and supported CAN hardware are required.
Third party calibration toolsUse third-party calibration tools to manage the XCP connection. An A2L file is generated during the build process, which describes the memory layout of tunable parameters and observable signals in the deployed model. You can load this A2L file into calibration tools such as CANape or INCA to connect to Raspberry Pi and perform parameter tuning and signal monitoring.
