CAN Channel

R2026b

CAN hardware channel for XCP on CAN external mode communication

Since R2026b

Model Configuration Pane: Hardware Implementation / Hardware board settings / Target hardware resources / Groups / External mode

Description

Select the CAN hardware channel for the host-side CAN interface used during XCP on CAN external mode communication. The available channels are filtered based on the selected CAN Vendor and CAN Device, and are determined by querying the CAN hardware interfaces connected to the host computer using the Vehicle Network Toolbox™ canChannelList (Vehicle Network Toolbox) function.

The CAN channel, along with the CAN Vendor and CAN Device parameters, identifies the specific CAN hardware interface on the host computer that communicates with Raspberry Pi® during external mode simulation.

Dependencies

To enable this parameter, set Communication interface to XCP on CAN and set Host interface to Simulink.

The available channels depend on the selected CAN Vendor and CAN Device. If you change the vendor or device, the channel list updates accordingly.

Settings

first available channel for the selected vendor and device (default) | dynamically populated from connected CAN hardware

Select the CAN hardware channel from the drop-down list. The list is dynamically populated based on the CAN hardware interfaces connected to the host computer that match the selected CAN Vendor and CAN Device.

Channel number

The channel number as reported by the canChannelList (Vehicle Network Toolbox) function. Many CAN interfaces support multiple channels. Select the channel that is physically connected to the CAN bus on Raspberry Pi.
