Matlab answers no longer lets me cut an paste
Show older comments
I've been using this forum for decades, but suddenly there's been an "upgrade" to the interface, so that I can no longer cut and paste. I use linux tools like vi.
Is there any way workaround for this? Cutting and pasting seems like a rather basic functionality to provide, supported by every other forum on the planet.
Best outcome for me would be to return to the old user interface. Is there a way to do this

Maybe you have something wrong with your internet browser?

Copy&Paste works for me under Windows & FireFox. Please post more details about your system. Can you Copy&Paste text from your question into a comment?

On Mac, I do not have any trouble copying from vi to here.
Your reference to gedit suggests to me that you are using one of the Linux ?

I also use vi (it's actually vim on my distro, not vanilla vi) and I noticed copy and paste issues in places. I found a number of solutions by googling "vim copy and paste not working" -- there are some vim config items that change how the clipboard works. It seems that there are minor differences between platforms as to what the settings should be, but hopefully this gets you going in the right direction.
