MacOS R2019a keeps asking to “accept incoming network connections"

It seems that this problem occured before too: HERE. I am using the latest macOS Mojave (10.14.4) and MATLAB R2019a. I upgraded from the R2018a, but I've removed the older version. Every time when I open MATLAB it pops this annoying window despite the fact that MATLAB is listed in my Firewall spacs to "Allow incoming connections". Help? I am really a novice with MATLAB so I do apologise if the question is "naive". I am, thou, experienced in R and decent in Python (but more and more interested in using MATLAB).
Thanks!

Same here. The old hint to start MATLAB from terminal still works. But using the terminal to start MATLAB is even more annoying than clicking the pop-up.
Mathworks, a fix would be highly appreciated!
Best, Andreas
This is funny! Quite an expensive piece of software should not allow for people acknowledging a problem and then Mathworks can't be bothered to fix it, right?
I am quite a novice to MATLAB, but R community is very different: this would be addressed promptly…
I have never experienced this problem on Mac and so cannot trigger it to study it.
As of last time I checked, Apple was sitting on Nvidia's request to certify a driver for Mojave. Both of my Mac systems have Nvidia displays so if I were to upgrade to Mojave I would expect bad graphics performance for reasons that are no fault of Mathworks and which could not be worked around. The newer Mac do not use Nvidia and so are not compatible with GPU computations from Parallel Computing Toolbox. And no one seems to be sending me free hardware for testing...
There are limits to what individual volunteers can do.
Hey, Walter Roberson, thanks for your answer! As I said, I am novice in MATLAB, but otherwise reasonably experienced (in R, Python, long ago in C too etc.). Do you really think that Nvidia is causing this issues with the Firewall and "Allow incoming connections"??
The point is that the active community members do not always have the resources to investigate these kinds of issues, especially when it does not happen to happen to them. The portion of the most active volunteers using Mac is surprisingly high, but we also tend to be semi-retired and not able to afford to buy new hardware to test every issue that comes up.
However, Mathworks has the resources, which they will employ when someone who is experiencing the problem opens a technical case with them.
Let me see... If you use Disk Utility or Winclone to clone your root partition and put the file up on Google Drive then I could mount it as a virtual machine under Parallels and see if the problem happens.
Thanks for wanting to help.
Can you be more specific: what exacly would you need me to clone?
I would need you to clone your entire boot drive. If your MATLAB is installed on a different drive then I would need you to clone that as well. The idea would be for me to run exactly the same software (same drivers and all) to see if it is a software issue.

Actually, this problem was sorted out with an update. Also, R2019a does not show such behaviour. Thanks Mathworks!

Seconding this issue. I've added the application to the Firewall settings in System Preferences and selected "Allow incoming network connections". As an additional troubleshooting step, I also added the application to the firewall using the command-line interface, /usr/libexec/ApplicationFirewall/socketfilterfw . The same message comes up every time I start MatLab 2019a. It doesn't matter if my account has admin rights or not. It doesn't matter if I click Allow, either; nor if I restart the system after clicking Allow. All user accounts on the system are affected. The message does not appear when MatLab 2018b is launched on the same machine.
Thanks for any assistance on this!

Thanks Mike Hendrickson! Yes, I can confirm that this wasn't happening under 2018b (which I have unforutnately removed).

Hi MATLAB Tech Support. I have the same problem as OP. Please provide a fix.
Mathworks tech support needs someone who is experiencing the problem to open a technical support case.
I could open a case about it for my system but since the problem does not happen to me, Mathworks cannot work with me to debug it.

I have filed a support ticket. I've been told that The Mathwoks is aware of the issue and is working on a solution.
Hi. I'm facing the exact same issue. Is there any solution to the problem yet?

Also, this issue is not occuring in my R2018a version.
As far as I can tell, no-one who encountered the problem has opened a technical support case with Mathworks to have them debug the problem. Or at least no-one has reported back what the solution is.
This is not something I can debug on my system because it does not happen to me.
OK, I will start a technical support case then. Thanks!

I have the same problem. It works fine only is I disable the firewall...
Why it is repeated at each start "Do you want the" MATLAB_R2019a.app "application to accept incoming network connections?"
Help!!!
A temporary workaround that has resolved the issue for me is to call the shell script directly: /Applications/MATLAB.../bin/matlab
Noted in a previous discussion thread for a similar issue on R2017a:
You can find the solution here.

The linked solution has been already tried before but to no avail.
