Matlab gets Excel 2016 interior properties very slowly

Hi,

I have been using the 'get' command to get an Excel sheet cell interior properties in Matlab. It has been using well with Matlab 2017b + Excel 2010.

However, recently I have upgraded both to Matlab 2018b and Excel 2016, and this command becomes 100 times slower than before.

Do you know what is going on and how to fix it?

I just moved to Matlab R2019a and Excel 2016 and I'm facing the same problem. Is there any workaround?

Hi,

I don't have sophisticated solutions yet.

Do you have comments in your excel file? In my case, the problem is temporarily solved by removing all the comments in that corresponding excel sheet.
