Does Matlab R2018b will receive updates of R2019a

Hello,

I am thinking to buy Matlab R2018b (Student Version) but I was wondering to wait till R2019a version to be released.

Or does Matlab R2018b will receive updates of R2019a?

Please advice!

I contacted the customer service and reply:

You always earn the student version with one year maintenance.

This means that if a new release is available within a period of 12 months after acquisition, it is entitled to download and use it and will also be informed about it.

Any further maintenance renewal of the license must then be performed by you at a cost

When you buy MATLAB other than Student Version, then one year of software update service is included, so if you were to purchase now you would be entitled to R2019a in the spring and R2019b in the fall.

I do not know if even one year of upgrades are included with Student Version. I know that Student Version users can purchase software update support.

Hi,

usually you get 1 year service additionally to all the toolboxes you buy and Matlab. That means, if you buy today, that you will have access to R2018b, R2019a and R2019b. For more you have to extend your services. This is how it works for my home license. For your personal situation ask TMW, since this forum is mainly used by volunteer Matlab users.
