Is there a way to make this Chronometer ?

I'm doing a clock for a work on Matlab but i'm still a novice. I would like to make my clock have a chronometer feature... I was thinking of doing a start button and when the user pressed start , the time would start " counting " and then there would be two stop buttons, one that would save the time when pressed ( much like an ordinary chronometer ) and other that would stop the time and the user could see how much time have passed . Can someone help me with this? ( I don't know how to work with Gui )

When someone keeps posting the same question, I usually stop responding to them. Cleaning up after four copies of the same basic question is tiring and discouraging and I have better things to do, like go to bed.
