Is increasing icon and tool strip text size in linux possible?

When running Matlab under Linux on a 2880x1620 display, the icons and tool strip text are unreadably small. Is it possible to increase them?
Before posting this, I googled for answers and found this problem reported various times going back to 2008. Indeed, I asked this earlier in 2011. However no solution was ever reported. So, has Mathworks finally addressed this?
If not, is there any workaround, other than using Mathematica (which does not have this problem) or programming in one of the new C++ packages? Thanks.

matlab never fix this neither do they respond. it is so bad...

Mathworks technical support does not monitor this Answers forum. Responses are from volunteers, most of whom do not work for Mathworks. If you have a bug that needs to be fixed, you should open a technical support case.
