Matlab will not start after installing update 5 for Matlab 2022b

While installing update 5, matlab got frozen. after restarting the update it finished. However, starting matlab now gets the following error :
Reading mathwork help on the matter seems to suggest to COMPLETELY UNISTALL and REINSTALL of Matlab and all toolboxes. Is there no faster fix ? E.g, to copy over some missing dll's or a 'repair' option for Matlab installer ?

Re-run the update_installer.exe in C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2022b\bin\win64.
For folks using R2023a: the executable has been renamed to MathWorksUpdateInstaller.exe

Thank you. Running the update_installer.exe indeed solved the problem (though it took very long time to finish).
It took too much time to re-update.
Thank you, the reupdate works 👍.
It takes 2 hours 😒
If it still doesn’t work after updating, you probably need to reinstall, since there’s no other repair option.

identifying the missing parts and finding a source for the exact needed version for them often takes longer than reinstalling.

I have sometimes had this when my anti-virus decided Matlab was a virus. You could check the quarantine (or whatever your AV calls it) to see if you can restore the file and add an exception.
