License checkout failed after cloning my HDD

I just cloned my HDD to a SDD.
Now I get the License checkout failed error.
I am pretty sure it is because the SDD has a differient Volume Serial Number. then the HDD.
How can I correct this?

Run the deactivation executable and then the activation executable.
This would probably count as one of the permitted "transfers".

How do I run those?
What are their names.
Note, I can't seem to find any *.exe with similar names.
For Windows, in your MATLAB installation directory there should be a Deactivate.exe . But if not look in the installation directory for uninstall\bin\win64\deactivate_matlab.exe

I expect that Deactivate.exe and deactivate_matlab.exe deactive the current installation. So they must be started after booting the original disk. Afterwards boot from the cloned SSD and activate Matlab again.
You can deactive without booting the old disk also: https://www.mathworks.com/mwaccount/
Click on the license, "Install and Activate" => "Deactivate a computer"

Use a clone tool like CloneZilla, which duplicates the volume ID also.
[EDITED] The volume ID can be modified by the computer administrator easily: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/volumeid
Just re-run the activation software to change which Host ID the license file looks for. The location of the activation software will depend on what Operating System you are using.
Well, I havent been able to get to this.
I am having other problems with this cloned SSD.
When I work my way through them I'll get back to this.
Thanks/
