can I use keyboard inputs to generate plots?

I have a variety of plots available (more exactly, a cell with 45 matrices in it). If I put p=14 (a value <45) and then the plotting commands, it works. Now, can I input p from keyboard? (stop the program, ask for input and based on that plot the corresponding plot)
