Hi everyone. Any possibility in using MQTT with Talkback. I would like to subscribe to the Talkback with MQTT on the ESP8266 and then send data based on the Talkback. Subscribing to MQTT would make it easier as to poll it via REST Http. Thanks

I log data of various data points. I change the update rate at which the sensors log data via Talkback. Example: Sensors update every 10 minutes and also the Talkback is read together with the update. Now I want to remotely change the update rate to every 1 minute. So I have to wait until the talkback is read on the next 10 minutes. With subscribe on MQTT, it would be instantaneously read and the update rate can be changed. I don't want to really use an additional MQTT broken just for the talkback. Also I need to limit data usage and not use http for the talkback (and check it every minute). As the posting of data in Thingspeak is via MQTT, I would have thought their is maybe a possibility of doing the talkback also via MQTT. Maybe it could be changed in the future? Thank you Jacques

Would it be possible for you to use a field in a channel or the metadata in the channel to store the update rate? You could poll the channel everytime you connect and compare to the last value, or compare to the time to see if there is new data.

Can you describe your workflow? What information is coming to and from your IoT devices?
