I would like to work with and visualize HEALPix data in MATLAB. A description of HEALPix from the project's website, http://healpix.jpl.nasa.gov, is as follows:
"HEALPix is an acronym for Hierarchical Equal Area isoLatitude Pixelization of a sphere. As suggested in the name, this pixelization produces a subdivision of a spherical surface in which each pixel covers the same surface area as every other pixel."
Does MATLAB have any functions that can handle such data?

The ability to generate and visualize HEALPix data is currently not available in MATLAB. In case you have any questions/clarifications regarding this, please feel free to contact Technical Support:
As a possible workaround, you can download the Java version of the HEALPix software,
and access/interface with MATLAB (refer to the following documentation pages regarding External Language Interfaces):
Please note that the above third-party software for HEALPix is not affiliated with, nor is it supported by, MathWorks, Inc.
