error while using 'Set Path' for downloaded som toolbox

I downloaded SOM toolbox , installed but cant set the path permanently. Getting error in saving 'pathdef.m'. It asks for startup location, I set it to 'bin' but never actually saves.

If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8, you might need to "run as administrator" to install the toolbox.

well I m not sure about that coz no such instruction was there on the site. meanwhile the gui is perfectly working but the only problem is every time I have to set the path before using.

Sites often do not mention operating system specific problems, especially problems with newer operating systems than the code was designed under.
Windows 7 and Windows 8 prevent user programs from writing files in the Programs And Files directory (or whatever its name is.) You need to Run As Administrator once so that the file can be updated. After that you can go back to running without administrator.
