I made an app that had a image in the background (flow diagram) and then I added labels, spinners and other things and it worked nicely.
But when I needed to do some changes in the flow diagram, so I went to app.image and changed it.
However, that brought the image upp front so I cannot access the spinners and other items anymore.
How to bring the image to the back again?

Do you mean in App Designer? If you right click on the image, there's an option "Reorder" and from there you can select "Send To Back"

Ah I see this feature was added recently (R2020b), sorry I didn't double check the release you marked.
As a workaround, you could select the obscured controls in the component browser (which will bring them temporarily to the front), right-click on one of them and choose cut, then immediately paste them back in. Because controls are added at the front, pasting them has the effect of forcing them to the front.

Thanks, gave me a reason to upgrade to R2021a.
