Modelling a crane operation in Simulink

I am trying to create a simulink/simevents model that simulates a crane system feeding several production lines in a system.
Products arrive at the entry lanes and the crane transports them to the production lines one by one.
Any suggestions how this could be modelled in an efficient way?
The crane can:
  1. Pick up from entry lane and put in production line
  2. Pick up in entry lane and put in storage if production line is full
  3. Pick up from storage and transport to production line which has become free

The model you are seeking for is not hard to create. And your question is too broad to fit in one post. You should start modeling and come back here with specific questions.

I was questing for suggestions on how to model this efficiently on a concept scale, to hear where people here would suggest such modeling could start from.
Sad to hear that the answer is ”it is not hard” and be told to return with real questions.
Sometimes the difficulty does not lie in how to modify a certain aspect of an entity but to learn from others experiences on modelling with simulink.

You should start modeling and ask specific questions. I think it is good to start with SimEvents examples.
