I was just wondering if anybody could tell me why the row name width of a uitable is so obnoxiously wide? It appears to literally be 3x bigger than it needs to be and it completely scrunched the data into a tiny tiny area.
Naturally, there is no way to access the row name width property without going through about 7 lines of java and downloading a FEX entry first so I am wondering why this was a good idea? (assuming it is for some unknown reason)
And I totally understand wanting to limit user control about certain UI objects so its not a pain in the but to make changes to future versions, but honestly, I think the entire uitable could use a serious visual makeover and was wondering what you guys think..
Here is a screenshot of the above problem I was describing: http://imgur.com/fwNqlY1

I completely agree. I have a GUI that requires lots of input data & I was using text & edit boxes, which is a bit of a pain. So I attempted to replace them by a uitable and couldn't believe the width and non-adjustability of the row names column. I suppose one work around is to get rid of the row names column and create a non-editable extra column of an expanded grid for the row names. Gordon Edwards
