Matlab app designer component properties window

For some reason when I open MATLAB app designer and add components, the area where I can change the components' properties disappeared and I'm unable to change the values/text/font/etc. Is there a way for me to get that back?

What do you see?
There is a chance you collapsed it. If you see something like what is shown in the image below, double click on the gray vertical bar or on the 'expand' indicator at the bottom to reopen the Component Browser.

Thank you, but thats not it. I attached a photo of what my app screen looks like. The place where the component properties normally is for me is just blank.
Have you tried saving then restarting MATLAB yet?
Yes, I've quit MATLAB and reopened it a bunch of times and it hasn't fixed itself.
As a test, restart MATLAB but this time try to create a new app and see if the property inspector appears. Perhaps that mlapp file is corrupted.
Unfortunately I've tried that and it happens with each new file I open.
In that case, you may have to reinstall MATLAB. You could try reaching out to customer support first to see if they have another suggestion.
