When I tried to start MJ service in the admincenter, I got the following error message.
"A SECURITY_LEVEL has not been specified in the mjs_def file, so no security features are enabled. As a best practice and to prevent this message, specify a SECURITY_LEVEL in the mjs_def file. Setting permissions on LOGBASE C:\ProgramData\MJS\Log
Setting permissions on CHECKPOINTBASE C:\ProgramData\MJS\Checkpoint
Setting permissions on SECURITY_DIR C:\ProgramData\MJS\Checkpoint\security
ERROR: Found an older version of the mjs service.
Uninstall the old service from the MATLAB root shown below and reinstall the new service.
The service was installed from this MATLAB root:
"C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2020b"
Script mjs unable to complete successfully - exiting"
I removed 2020b and installed 2021a. I reinstall 2020b and uninstalled but I get the same message. Can anyone let me know how to uninstall the old service? Thanks.

I would suggest contacting Technical Support (support@mathworks.com). They ought to be able to resolve this quickly for you.

To resolve this, i did the following steps:
1) open cmd and browse to matlabrootfolder\_any_release_\toolbox\parallel\bin
2) stop mjs:
mjs stop
3) start it back up with a -clean flag:
mjs start -clean
4) uninstall the service:
mjs uninstall
5) install the service back:
mjs install
