how to smooth circular playback data set to avoid the discontinuity in value?

I want to repeatly playback a set of data in time-domain. But there is a discontinuity between its beginning value and its end value, which creates a spike in data frequemcy spectrum. How do I apply a smooth filter in Matlab? Thanks
