How can I remove the selected sentences from the text?

Hello there! I have a text containing unnecessary words. The pre-processing steps we are used to were not enough for me(stopwords,tokenization...). If you look at this text carefully, the data I want to remove is the sentences in the <ref> ... </ref> section of the text. How can I use a cleanup process to get rid of these sentences? From my understanding, you want to delete certain parts of text.

The eraseBetween() function is used for deleting substrings between start and end points.
