Explanation on two way connection block

I am working on a model in Simulink consisting of several powertrain components but I am not sure how two way connection blocks actually work. For example, in order to simulate transfer of mechanical power (torque and angular velocity) I could use two way connection block with only torque as input right? Or I`m getting something wrong?
