which is best suitable file type I should use for my dataset with matlab. Curently my data is in excel sheet. I currently having some issues retriving data from excel sheets. I want the minulapution of data smoothly.

You can make use of text file,csv file,and excel sheets for creating your dataset, MatLab has good support for these files.
