app-designer, rename variables
Show older comments
More out of curiosity: In the regular editor it is possible to rename a variable via the popup tooltip string that says "Press shift-Enter to rename n instances.....". It seems this is not possible in the editor of the app designer, or am I missing something? This was a very useful feature - will it be included in a future release? (I am also suprised that the 'undo' button is not working, while ctrl-Z / cmd-Z does... why?)
Best regards, Florian

A while ago, someone else also highlighted these issues with the App designer's editor: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/533243-app-designer-issues-and-suggestions. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed in a future release.

Hey,
This feature is currently not available for the editor in appdesigner. We might consider it for future releases :)

Did you work on that? I have R2020a version. Regards.

I am unable to find which version of MATLAB addressed and added this functionality to AppDesigner, but at least back to R2022a you were able to update a variablename and apply the changes to all instances with the Shift+Enter option similar to working in GUIDE, and simple scripts/functions.
