Problems using a gige camera with image acqisition toolbox

Hi,

I'm using a gige camera, it works fine using the original software. My aim is to use the camera with image acquisition toolbox while moving the camera around. First problem is that generating the videoinput object takes up to half an hour, so do you have an idea why? Second problem is that sometimes i get the following error message and i don't know how to work around this. "Error using imaqdevice/getsnapshot (line 62) gige: Unable to set PacketSize." I've tried the troubleshootings already but it didn't help.

Which camera?

It's a Dalsa Genie HM1024 http://www.teledynedalsa.com/mv/products/cameradetail.aspx?partNumber=CR-GM00-H102x and perhaps it's a question of performance, because the system is a Pentium 3 3GHz with 3 GB RAM.

I'll try to use another camera and report what happens, but i don't have another camera with GigE, so I'm not yet familiar with possible problems.
