matlab and newport agilis controllers

Hi,

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone tried talkinf to a Newport Agilis-P Controller using Matlab? The device uses a virtual COM-port via USB, and I can't seem to get any of my commands to register with the device.

It's very frustrating as I can talk to it with Labview, but not Matlab!
