How can I get a voltage vs time plot from a wav file?

I'd like to get a voltage vs time plot from an audio wav file. All I've seen so far is how to get an "Audio Signal" vs time plot. Is this the same thing?

You would necessarily have to assume the units are voltage. With that assumption, they are the same. However, audio files (at least in MATLAB) are normalised to ±1, so it would be necessary to know the voltage scaling of the original signal to get the actual voltage.
