Converting Simscape DC Voltage Source to Simulink

40 views (last 30 days)
My team and I are researching different tools to use for modeling and simulation. I am working on a small model to showcase what Mathworks has to offer. I've ran into a problem with trying to convert the DC Voltage Source from Simscape into Simulink using the PS-Simulink Converter. After some quick research the converter should be the answer I'm looking for, but it is not letting me connect the source to the converter. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Mitchell, thanks for the screenshot.
If I understand you correctly, you're trying to use Simscape foundation library. The best way to "convert" simscape to simulink is to measure the voltage/current source using the appropriate sensor, followed by a PS to Simulink converter and then sending this signal to your stateflow chart.
Please see the attached model.

Mitchell,
Can you attach the model or post a screenshot so we can see the blocks you're trying to connect?
If you're using the DC votlage source from the specialized technology library and trying to interface it with the Simscape electrical blocks you'll need Current-Voltage Simscape Interface. There are some examples available here.

In Simscape I have the following libraries - Simscape/Foundation Library/Electrical. In the electrical folder I have Electrical Elements, Electrical Sensors, and Electrical Sources. What Mathworks subscripition do I need to use the Specialized Power Systems library?

It is a part of the Simscape Electrical toolbox.
Could please show what block(s) you're trying to connect to your DC voltage source?

So I have Simscape which by default gives me the basic tools in the electrical Simscape tool box. I don't have the full version of the electrical Simscape. I'm trying to put a DC voltage source in place of the constants on the far left of the diagram below. Also I will want to add in current sources, so if you have any tips on how to do that, that would be great.
