Will the simulink support package for android be compatible with Samsung galaxy S9 or shoulsd I use an earlier model for compatibility? I have either 2018b or 2017b I could use

Yes it is compatible see https://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/android/ref/androidlib.html?s_tid=doc_ta it was introduced in 2016a so it won’t be a problem.
