Move multiple objects in same plot

I have 2 objects(say 2 points) in a 3d space. As of now, one of the points is stationary and the other does complex manoeuvres(user defined translation/rotation). What I want to do is simultaneously move the first point along a predefined path(say a straight line/curve). So I want the position of the 1st point to be updated,say, every second, while the 2nd point continues to do its manoeuvres.

Now I'm finding this difficult due to the sequential processing of code. So I need some help

Consider using a timer object instead of sequential processing.

Could you elaborate a bit. I'm kinda new to matlab, and couldn't find anything relevant online.

Say, I want to increase the x,y,z coordinates of a point every 5 seconds, could you show me the code I should use?
