kind of filter to be used

Hi.. I'm bit confused with the kind of frequencies to be eliminated from this image

to make it a image without texture .

Should I need to smoothen the image.If,so Gaussian lowpass filter will do this job better compared to others.

should I use Ideal lowpass or Gaussian Lowpass filter.
