The code:
format short;
A=[13 14;
29 30];
B= A^10;
disp(B);
C=det(B);
disp("Determinant is");
disp(C);
% That is approximately zero.
e=eig(B);
disp(e);
The output:
1.0e+16 *
0.7195 0.7535
1.5607 1.6344
Determinant is
2.0499e+15
1.0e+16 *
0
2.3539
What does the output value of the eig function mean? I thought it was supposed to be the eigenvalues. Does the 1.0e+16 * 0 mean actual multiplication?
