How to connect to Cloudera Impala

I have someone asking if he can use MatLab connect to the Cloudera Impala platform which my team is supporting.

I couldn't find a case about this, can anyone help? What does he need to do or what should we do to connect Matlab to Cloudera Impala?

In case this is useful to someone else. Impala has both ODBC and JDBC drivers available through cloudera. You can simply connect to it via the "database" function and the appropriate driver.
