can someone explain how linear prediction does use the coefficient to predict the future samples?

can someone provide some sample then find the coefficient of the signal after that predict the future samples? can someone provide small code? lets say the sample are x = [.25 .78 .56 .35 .4]; can we predict the 6th sample?
