How do I use the Mantel Test to test correlation between two matrices?

So I downloaded the Mantel Test function from https://figshare.com/articles/Mantel_test/1008724.

I am wondering if anyone have ever used this before? The function is called [out pval]=bramila_mantel(xSim,modelMat,iter,type). I am just not sure what are the things that I need to provide (etc what is xSim, modelMat, iter and type).
