In MATLAB Toolstrip,On the Home tab, in the Environment section, click Layout. Then, in the Show section, select Current Folder.

I called them up and sorted it. For anyone having this problem, close MatLab Online and clear your browser cache and cookies. When you start MatLab it'll ask you to start a new session and everything should be default again. You'll still keep your files/folders on MatLab so you won't lose any saved data.

This is not valid for matlab online. You can't fix it under layout under show menu.

i have the same issue. Was working in files on my matlab drive (in matlab online) but those files disappeared.
The filebrowser command does not work for me, but when i type dir, it shows the subfolders.

Did you figure it out? Same thing has happened to me, the current folder window has disappeared and I can't get it back.
Tried typing filebrowser, default layout does nothing, the Layout dropdown menu doesn't have the relevant options either.
I can't open any files without the browser.

@Gary Miranda thanks a lot! I had spent a long time trying to find a command, your solution was the only one that worked for me!
