Anyone who looks can see that topic; it contains instructions on how you can do it yourself if you have Simulink (unless perhaps new enough versions removed that facility.)

I cannot do the conversion as I do not have Simulink.

If you have a version of Simulink that can open the SLX files, follow the instructions on this page to export the model to a previous version.

If you do not have a version of Simulink that can open the SLX files, you probably should ask the person from whom you obtained those files to export the files and provide you with the exported files.
