How can i start a matlab for loop variable with 001 instead of 1?

There is mathematically no difference between the two. What are you really after? Do you want a string instead of a number?

I would like to read the each file in which ''001 002..24'' is present e.g., A09500CHJ_N.mat in this file '00'(name([5 6]) before CHJ character. i would like read such thousands of files and apply some code and save the result. Please look through the code given below and i want to create the loop for variable 'a':
