Simbiology "Fatal Error" while trying to import xml sbml model

Simbiology from Matlab 2015a reports following error while trying to import via GUI the attached model file from a publication by Gadkar et al (2014)

"A fatal error occurred reading in this file

Can someone suggest a solution to this?

I believe you are referring to this paper . The ZIP file that you attached is not an SBML file. It is a SimBiology project. You should change the file extension from ".zip" to ".sbproj" before opening it in the SimBiology Desktop. In addition, before you will be able to simulate the model you will need to contact the authors to obtain additional MATLAB function files that the model uses. The functions that I saw referenced (but not included) are named SREBP2_reg and transform.
