Files deleted on MATLAB Online and now on my local drive

I had not used MATLAB Online in a few months. When I logged in recently I found that most of the folders and files were gone. I am certain that I did not delete them (or mean to). I cannot find anything in "Deleted Files" either (probably because it is more than a month). Is there a way to at least find the history of when they got deleted?
The worst part is that when it synced (MATLAB connector was also turned off for some time because it was slow at startup) to my laptop which I primarily use for MATLAB all the local copies were deleted as well. Do the deleted local copies exist somewhere on the local disk? I could not find them in the Recycle Bin.
Is there anyway to undo a recent sync (to get the local folder back to how it was an hour ago)?
Thanks!
Nagendra

There is always a possibility that they are not actually lost from MATLAB Online, and can be recovered. (I hope!)
