Matlab 2025a new desktop right click in workspace to plot

In the new matlab desktop, the option to plot directly from the workspace has disappeared (see attached screenshots, old context menu on the left with plot options). Is there any way to add the plot options back to the right click menu?

While I cannot find a way to restore the 'plot' option to the workspace context menu in MATLAB New Desktop, I can suggest another mouseclick-based workflow:

1. Select your variable in the workspace browser.
2. On the toolstrip ribbon, click on your desired plot-type from the "Plot" tab.

Please use the "Feedback" button located at the top-right of the toolstrip ribbon to let MathWorks development staff know you would like this feature restored in the workspace's right-click context menu.

The workflow of using the toolstrip to find plots for variable(s) selected in the workspace browser is recommended because it offers a broad array of plots as well as other tools within the toolstrip to explore more plots for other selections.

However, the benefit of the previous context menu design was the proximity of the context menus to the selection in the workspace browser. We are considering future design changes which could bring the toolstrip plot visualization options closer to the workspace browser selection.

Thanks for the response. I use the right click menu extremely frequently - it is great for quickly looking at the data, checking errors etc, so I think having some version of it in future releases would be very helpful.

I do also miss right click on variables for a quick plot. Please bring it back!!!
