Matlab Runtime suddenly stopped working and cannot be found by Matlab apps/Matlab itself

Hello,

I am using Matlab 2020a and I must run a Matlab executable that needs the runtime 9.8. Everything was working fine till yesterday, I could run the applicaiton without any issue. Then, today I cannot run the app anymore because I get this error:

and in addition Matlab is not finding the runtime when I try to use >>mcrinstaller

I tried to:

-uninstall the Matlab runtime 9.8 and reinstall it

-restart PC

-add the path to the runtime to the PATH (I can see that it is added to the env variable)

but nowthing helped. Could you please help me to find out what happened and fix it?

Hello Venkat,

Thank you, I followed the instructions in the article and it solved the problem.

I still get this:

>> mcrinstaller

MATLAB Runtime installer cannot be found. Download it using the command: compiler.runtime.download

ans =

0×0 empty char array

However the Matlab application is now working fine again.

This error is likely due to "MATLAB Runtime" cache issues.
