Why is exportgraphics not fully supported in Matlab for Desktop?

4 views (last 30 days)
I saw that the exportgraphics function can now handle inputs concerning width and height. Unfortunately, this is only the case for Matlab online. I hoped that 2024b will bring it to Desktop too, but that was not the case. What's the reason for that and when can we get it on the Desktop.
Please do not post alternatives like export_fig etc, I know about them.
best regards

Hi,
from what I can tell, the requested feature is available in the desktop version when using "New Desktop" in R2024b ( https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/119593-new-desktop-for-matlab-beta ).
Best wishes,
Harald

nice to see that, thanks. I did not find that information anywhere, also not in the release notes of the beta? where did you find that information?
seeing this in the new desktop beta, does it mean that it is likely to get this in the "normal" desktop version soon?
is it possible to use features from the beta in standalone applications running on the matlab runtime engine?

My non-developer understanding is that New Desktop is built on comparable technology as MATLAB Online, so I just tried.
Chances are that the beta will become the "normal" desktop version.
While I have not tried, I would expect this to work. I'd just go ahead and try.
