How to remove discontinuous boundary?

I have to extract feature of a connected object. To separate the object from its boundary, I have executed erosion operation. The connected object separated successfully. But when, I want to remove the boundary using imclearborder. It does not work as the boundary is not solid. Can it possible to reconstruct a solid boundary and remove it to get the single object as output shows in figure desire output.jpg.
