Can wireless network simulator provide DAC quantizatization function?

2 views (last 30 days)
5G system level simulation gives an example of "NR cell performance evaluation with physical layer integratio", where the IQ samples could be captured and saved. In my project, we want to evaluate the ACLR, EVM, data rate, and BLER performance under the DAC quantization noise using the wireless network simulator. Is it can be done?

Hi Zhiwei,
While wireless network simulators might not have built-in DAC quantization, here's a workaround:
  1. Run your network simulation as usual.
  2. Extract the IQ samples (ideal digital signal).
  3. Use MATLAB's signal processing tools to create a separate DAC noise model (quantization errors) on the extracted samples.
  4. Analyze the processed signal (noisy IQ samples) for ACLR, EVM, data rate, and BLER.
This approach leverages MATLAB's strengths for both network simulation and signal processing, giving you more control over DAC noise modeling.
