How to remove incorrect tags from questions?

Someone added a tag to my question that is inappropriate. I have no idea why they added the tag, since I'm not using anything related to the tag, nor is the question related to anything specific to that tag. I just need to be able to remove it. How do I do so?

In the right margin of this page (and the page you want to change), there is a section called (appropriately) Tags. Just to the right of it is Add/Edit. You should be able to click on Add/Edit and then delete the inappropriate tag by clicking on the x next to it

Editing tags requires 5 rep points, so a user would need to have earned the Level 1 badge.

As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't mind if an unprivileged user were to simply use a flag to alert other members to make the edit on their behalf.

The tags currently on your question are

Your question is about improving performance for MATLAB invoked from the command line -- in particular bash. You compare to performance of python and c. And you were using a Mac for the tests. Therefore none of those tags are inappropriate.

Perhaps it was Linux instead of mac, but you did not correct that point, so it is not unfair for someone to believe that it was mac after-all.

It is not a work-around that 5 reputation points are required to edit tags: it was a deliberate design decision. Amongst other reasons, it cuts down on the number of people who create throw-away accounts and use them to spam by adding tags.

There is a fair bit of spam protection going on in the background. There have been some very aggressive spam-bots that have posted over 10000 spam posts over the span of a few hours; reputation-based sandboxing reduces the successful spam.

@Walter Roberson: Or it could have been FreeBSD! There's any number of operating systems one can run MATLAB on, none of which require owning a mac. They all run on the same x86 architecture, after all.

I shouldn't have to correct a blatantly baseless assumption. The only unfairness here is that anyone familiar with the (real) command line is a mac user.

MATLAB is only supported on (some versions of) Windows, (some versions of) Linux, and (some versions of) MacOS, and is not supported on FreeBSD.

You would be unlikely to get any support for improving performance of MATLAB on an unsupported operating system.
