when using bevel gear constraints do the frames have to be oriented in a particular way? I keep getting a position error

Hi Cindy,
I understand that you are facing issue while trying to assemble a model using bevel gears.
From what I can grasp is that the angles, spacing, parameterization and specified constraints of the gears and individual components might have resulted in position violation.
Position violation errors arise when a particular joint or assembly is trying to perform a movement or transformation that the specified model’s degree of freedom does not allow. The follower gear’s teeth and the base gear’s teeth must be aligned and bear a compatible initial condition to ensure the position is not violated.
In this case, you can use “Transform Sensor” block to identify any misplacement of coordinates.
Please refer the following MathWorks Documentation link for more information on the “Transform Sensor” block: https://www.mathworks.com/help/sm/ref/transformsensor.html
A slider can also be used to manually toggle the spacing and angle at which the bevel gear is inclined to verify which way the simulation runs without causing any errors.
Constraints and preset parameters for bevel gears can be found in the following Documentation links:
Hope this helps.
