Mouse click does not work in Matlab R2022a, however mouse click works in all other applications

6 views (last 30 days)
I have been running Matlab on fedora 36, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X with AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card with 64 GBytes of memory. Until today everything was working. Today without any changes to the system, Matlab is no longer responding to any mouse clicks. I am getting no error messages or error codes, just no response. I have tried killing and restarting Matlab and the first attempt to use the mouse works and then no response.

Hello John,
One of the reasons for the issue you have mentioned can be cybersecurity software that might interfere with MATLAB. Do enquire your IT department to see if this is the case.
Also visit the Road Map (https://www.mathworks.com/support/requirements/platform-road-map.html) page for MATLAB & Simulink to check for a non-supported setup.
Thank You.

Hi Shreyas, Thanks for your reply. Aside from normal SEL software, I am not running cybersecurity software on this computer so I am doubtful that cybersecurity software is the issue.
As for the roadmap, it looks like Matlab/Mathworks does not support Fedora 36 although this distribution is not too different from the other RedHat distros. Maybe this is a part of the problem. However, I am stuck with using Matlab as well as using Fedora 36.

Hi
I encounter the same issue with Simulink in R2022a and R2022b academic versions.
Which cybersecurity software may cause Simulink to stop functioning like this?
Regards
Joseph
