How to connect HTML Webpage and Matlab script ?

Hi

I am developing a webpage. Instead of using PHP, Java or Perl, I wish to connect matlab script file to the HTML front end.

I want following input from the user from the webpage (front end):

Input: A string of characters, which after submitting should be stored in an array and subsequent calculations could be performed.

Can anyone guide me with a steps to connect matlab file with HTML action attribute.
